Three French Bulldogs Di*ed After Being Left Without Food and Water — Owner Receives Lifetime Animal Ban Newport, Wales — Jamela Oates, also known as Jay Fletcher-Oates, from Bettws, Newport, has been sentenced after three French bulldogs were found d*ad at her home. Oates pleaded guilty to an offence under the Animal Welfare Act after dogs named Precious, Destiny and Diamond were found de*ad in kennels at the property. According to evidence presented to the court, RSPCA Inspector Simon Evans attended the address and found the dogs’ bodies in two kennels at the bottom of the garden. The three bodies were later examined by a vet and described as “mummified.” The vet concluded that Destiny and Diamond had died from dehydration. Precious was believed to have had access to some water for part of the period but was also considered to have suffered during the time leading up to her de*ath. During an interview with Inspector Evans, Oates said her wife had died in February 2024 and that she had struggled following the loss.
